As usual, our first concert of the year held held in the delightful St. Martin's Church, Womersley. This has become regular event for us over many years now, which is very much enjoyed by the Band. We are always made very welcome here.
2016 marked the 40th Anniversary for KCB and we planned a special concert to mark this special occasion. As well as plenty of wonderful new and old music, we arranged for many past members to come and join in for several selected pieces. So this was a wonderful occasion getting members past and present working in unison to bring together the best musical concert of the year.
We continued to support St. Andrew's church with their Remembrance Day service as usual this year. As norma the Band played in the church itself for hymns during the Remembrance service and Eucharist, before we moved outside to lead the procession from the church to the Cenotaph for 11:00am. Here the traditional service of Remembrance continued with hymns and prayers, and Jennifer played the Last Post with a true feeling that I'm sure was appreciated by all there.
We shall remember them ...
We were invited back to the village of Hillam in North Yorkshire again this year, as we have become central to their festive celebrations during the turning on of their Christmas Lights. As always this was a well organised events with warm mulled wine and mince pies which were very welcome
Our main concert of the festive season wasenjoyed by everyone who came along. Make a note in your diary early for the 2017 Christmas concert as soon as it is arranged so you don't miss out.
