Comments: | Hi to everyone at KCB, I was a member a long time ago along with my Brother Andrew, first played way back in the '80's. I owe a lot to graham for getting me to play the Eb Bass, met some great people and had some great times (two trips to germany spring to mind!!). All the best. rmj. |

Comments: | Its great to see the band still going strong after all these years. Regards to Graham who was my schoolteacher at Englands Lane and taught me trombone. I played with Knottingley Schools Band in those red shirts and black trousers until my teen years kicked in! Its funny how things go full circle as my wife to be is a music teacher and has rekindled my interest. I hope to drop in and see a concert later in the year. Who knows I might even take up lessons again! Steve |

Comments: | Christmas brings many memories of the
very busy time I spent in the band during the period 1980/90,s, from taking my youngest son Darren, to band practice I tried to play the double bass, became band chairman for about 10yrs. also tried to conduct the band in Graham's absence, occasionally my twin boys, Kevin and John, were roped in when on leave from the band of Her Majesteys Royal Marines. {They were a bit better musicians than me} allthough no more enthusistic. We all at the Harts residence enjoyed our time with KCB. all the best for the New Year. George. |

We are now patrons and visit West Yorkshire each Christmas for the Patrons' concert. The band did a surprise concert for my 50th birthday. I love the band and their wonderful music! |

Comments: | As a former member, it's great to the the band is still going strong and that there are still one or two familiar names on the members page. I'm currently playing Solo Euph with the EYMS band in Hull, and will be playing at the Royal Albert Hall in a few weeks time. Please pass on my thanks to Graham - without his help and encouragemnet in those early years (and patience!), this would not have been possible. Best wishes for the future and regards to those members who may remember me! |

Comments: | I very much enjoy attending your concerts, especially when they include the oompha band. I get on very well with members of your band and find them very easy to communicate with. I am very pleased that I gave one of your cornet players his first cornet, and that he still has it. Thank you for the many happy times I have spent with you. |

Comments: | Hey all, as I skip throught the current band members list, I see many a familiar name on there. I am glad that the band is still thriving, after all, it was such a big part of my life for around 8-9 years. As I look back I have many a fond memory of times spent playing infront of different crowds of people. Unfortunatly, I no longer play an instrument, but have moved onto Club DJing, recently playing in New York and Washington DC. I hope that all of you are well, and wish the band every success in the future. Take care guys, realise your dreams. With love, Simon |

Comments: | As a fan of Brass Band music I miss the sound of a full bevy of players giving their best. I say this as I migrated to Australia in 1988 from Halifax where I was a Snare drummer in a marching band and would suggest you include some MP3 samples of your bands music on your site. This would expand your exposure to the 6.8 billion people on this earth some of which may one day might search the internet using the syntax `"brass band" + mp3 + download` after watching "Brassed Off" on TV. I have fond memories of Knottingley and if you know Shirley (Nee)Barnes then say hello for me and thanx for 1986 and I wish you and your band many more years of keeping the tradition going. |

Comments: | I am a retired school mistress and I just love to keep in touch with your band. I attend your concerts whenever I can and visit your web site regularly, usually during the night as I have problems sleeping and do not want to keep my husband awake. I attended your recent anniversary concert and it really did bring back memories of previous concerts. It was lovely, I really enjoyed it. However, there is something I am curious to find out. Where was the young lady who helps with the conducting? I particulary liked the showbusiness piece and noticed she did not conduct it, I hope she has not left the band. |
WebMaster's reply: | Jennifer did indeed leave us towards the end of 2000, and joined another band much nearer to her home in South Yorkshire. But I'm delighted to say that since moving to Hemsworth in 2003, she has returned to the Band, where her wonderful talents are really appreciated once again. Glad you find the site useful for keeping up to date with the Band. |

Comments: | Sorry to hear about long time Patron Mrs Austerberry at your anniversary which is maybe why the concert was not as good as usual standards.... to be honest this was one of your concerts that me and my wife didn't enjoy.... the program wasn't varied enough for the audience.. the lighting effects were terrible as usual.. We know you are trying to make the band less stereotypical of other brass bands but is there really all the need for these effects? This will be the last concert we will be attending of Knottingley Concert Brass as five or six years ago this was a thriving band but you have lost your spark....... Sorry to be so negative but the website is great i feel I had to let you know our feelings of the concert..Good Luck |
WebMaster's reply: | We are sorry that Mr & Mrs Baker did not enjoy our special concert, but thank them for taking the time to express their views. See the concert review for information on the lighting system problems, but we will be taking all these comments into account for future events. Do you share these opinions? Please let us know what you think, as all your suggestions (positive or negitive) will help us to provide the kind of performance you want from the band. Michael: If you read this, you requested a reply, which I would very much like to do, but you did not supply your email address. Please contact us again, as we would very much like to follow up on your comments and hear about any suggestions you might have for improvments. Many thanks. The same goes for everyone, of course! |

WebMaster's reply: | Agreed, Warwickshire is not often described as local to Yorkshire! However, on a global scale.... :-)
Description on the Sessions page now amended to reflect Andrew's correct location, sorry about that. I believe I had been originally been informed that Andrew was from this area of the country. For those of you that don't know who Andrew is, he has kindly given his time to lead the Band on a number of occasions for some of our workshop sessions. These have been extremely enjoyed by the Band, and are something we hope to continue with in the future; Andrew willing and able of course. Many thanks for your kind comments, Andrew. |

WebMaster's reply: | I have since discovered that Andrew is in fact an original member of our Band, back in the beginning when it was known as Knottingley School's Band, and remained a player with the Band for many years. Several existing Band members remember Andrew well are are pleased he has been in touch. Maybe Andrew will call in if he visits this area of the country again? This invitation goes out to any old Band members, of course. |

Comments: | Sorry to comment on HTML, but More colour needed, the TABLES's could do with BGCOLOR="#eeeeff" to bring out text from the background. You can vary from TD's to produce a tastefull colour slide. Also try www.meat.com and go to background world for some colour backdrops. The band picture was good, and the key was very well done. Also on your own pages... Keep up the work on REXX :-) |
