After a morning looking around the museum, followed by lunch, the Band set-up in the lovely Band Stand situated in the village green area.
It's "jackets off" for performing, as this was turning into a lovely hot afternoon. No sign at this stage of the heavy rain that was to burst river banks and cause devastation to the local area later that evening.
By our next session, we had gathered quite a large audience who were enjoying our performance. Brass bands playing in a Band Stand like this would of course been a normal part of life in most towns and villages, during the period of British history that the Beamish Museum reproduces. We enjoyed bringing this back to the visitors of the museum that day.
With our banner proudly on display, we perform another piece for the museum visitors.
