Between 1994-1996 I played in various groups on drums, playing at local gigs. I played drums for the college production of "Superstar". Also played cornets for the Yorkshire Traction Brass Band. I attended Newcastle University between 1996-1999 where I played trombone in the symphony orchestra for three years, which included performing at the Newcastle City Hall. I played for Young Sintonia (of Northern Sintonia) for a newly commissioned Peter Maxwell-Davis piece. I was a member of the Newcastle University Jazz Orchestra when we won the MU's Inter-University Big Brass Competition in 1998. I played in many local gigs around the North-East and also for Nottingham and Cambridge universities' Summer Balls. I played in three shows for the university Gilbert & Sullivan society. Since 1999 I have played for the DUT Yorkshire Imperial Rothwell Band on percussion, performing in concerts from London to Birmingham Symphony Hall in the British Open. |
Comments: | Other interests include being a big Leeds United fan, and a keen supporter of Stella, the King of beers!
I'm percussionist for Noteability and I've also been known to step in to play in our Bavarian Oompah band, The KC Bratwursts, from time to time as required. I was the main treasurer for the Band between 2002 and 2007 and still assist that role today. |
