Preparations for the VIP treatment of our Patrons is well underway. The tables have been arranged and Gill (front) and Diane have turned their attention to getting the refreshments prepared.
One of the refreshment tables with drinks fountains and the chocolate fountain ready to accept their contents.
Gill (left) and Diane once all the hard work was done and the VIP refreshments were ready, in a few moments of calm just before the Patrons themselves began to arrive.
Then the concert itself gets underway. The first piece, full of lively hits from Broadway musicals, is conducted by Jennifer with Graham playing bass.

The junior band featured in this concert, performing a piece in both halves, supported by some of the full band members. On the left of Graham are Scott (front) and Bobby (3rd in) on cornet and on the right of Graham is Mathew (front) and his sister Louise on horn. Behind them on the back row is Richard (front) who's arm is just about able to reach the low notes on his trombone! Our other junior member, James, was unable to attend this concert as he was performing with his school band on a trip to Italy.

As the first half of the concert comes to an end, the band stands to take the applause of the audience.

The chocolate fountain in full flow on offer to all our audience in the interval, as plenty was still left over from the VIP reception.
This turned out to be very popular with everyone, even with several people who admitted they had never tried one before.
The entertainment continued in the second half and one of the featured pieces was 12th Street Rag featuring our senior cornet players, Jennifer (left), Kathryn and Steve.

It was Barry Hill's 60th birthday just after this concert and we all sang Happy Birthday. His family brought a wonderful cake (see below) which was given to Barry after the concert finished.

Eventually the concert had to come to an end and the delighted audience showed their appreciation as the band stood to accept their generous applause. Susan Dean can also be seen here in front of the stage and our concerts would not be the same without her meticulously researched introductions to our pieces. Many thanks go to Susan from all in the band for her work at our concerts, as well as to all our many helpers. Without their help, our concerts could never get off the ground.

A picture of the wonderful cake brought to the concert for Barry's birthday by his family.
That portly percussionist causing havoc amongst his fellow musicians reminds me of someone. I wonder who that could be? .... :-)
