How to find Ferrybridge 'C' Power Station

Rehearsals

The Band rehearse at the Ferrybridge 'C' Power Station site, near the junction of the M62 and A1.

Heading East on M62 Motorway

Take J32 off the M62, and head north on the A639 towards Castleford. In half a mile, after passing the Bingo on your left, take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto the B6136 Holywell Lane. Stay on this road all the way through the village, and out into the countryside towards the power station. After about 2 miles, you will enter the 30MPH zone at Ferrybridge. The Ferrybridge 'C' Power Station main entrance is then 100mtrs on your left.

Heading West on M62 Motorway

Take J33 off the M62 (sign-post A1 South, A645 Pontefract), and head north on the A162 (4th exit off roundabout). Take the 2nd exit (just over a mile) to Ferrybridge. At the T-junction at the end of the slip road turn left to join the B6136. The Ferrybridge 'C' Power Station main entrance is then half a mile on your right.

Heading South on A1

Exit the A1 to join the M62 heading east (towards Hull). Take the first exit off the M62 (sign-post services) and at the roundabout take the first exit to join the A162 north. Take the 2nd exit (just over a mile) to Ferrybridge. At the T-junction at the end of the slip road turn left to join the B6136. The Ferrybridge 'C' Power Station main entrance is then half a mile on your right.

Heading North on A1

Exit the A1 towards Hull, Pontefract and services and join the A162. Stay on the A162; do not take the slip road for Hull/services. After going under the M62 junction, take the 2nd exit (just over a mile) to Ferrybridge. At the T-junction at the end of the slip road turn left to join the B6136. The Ferrybridge 'C' Power Station main entrance is then half a mile on your right.

When on-site

Beware the speed humps as you enter the site and pull into the parking bay on your left. Note there is a 20MPH speed restriction in the site. Use the zebra crossing and enter the security gate house (beside the barrier) through the door at the top of the ramp. You must have a security badge to be able to enter/exit the site at the main car park. Visitors to the band should therefore try to contact the band in advance so that we can arrange for a badge to be made ready for you by the Ferrybridge Security team. You will collect your badge at the security gate house and be met there by a band member. All visitors must remain accompanied by a band member during their visit.

If you do not have a pre-arranged visit, it will be necessary for security to arrange a band member to return from the rehearasl room and meet you at the gate house. They will then confirm the authorisation of a visitors badge for you.
