It was a beautiful sunny afternoon as the band got underway with our performance at Lotherton Hall.
Jennifer Turner, Steve Jones and Kathryn Lee are some of our front row cornet players with Craig Kidd on the back row playing Sop.
Due to the strong sunshine, the percussion and bass sections try to find some shade to protect the skins of the drum kit and timpani drums as well as the large bodies of the basses.
Jennifer Turner steps forward to perform her very skilful solo rendition of the complex "Hailstorm" march.
In full flow are LtoR: Barry Hill and Karen Brewis on baritone with Simon Coates and Matthew Armitage on euphonium.
Our horn section for the day was made up of Richard Young, Matthew Price, Emma Binns and Kirsty Atha.
Behind is Steve Sainty on bass with Ken McNaught on timpani.
Now it was Karen Brewis and Simon Coates to come forward for their lovely solo duet of Wind Beneath My Wings.
On the down beat as Ian Dean conducts the band in a popular Abba piece Lay All Your Love On Me.

The sound contains lots of surrounding noises and the picture quality isn't great (taken on a mobile phone) with people passing in front of the lens. But somehow it seems to capture the relaxed atmosphere of this kind of outdoor event and it certainly gives a feeling of the wonderful afternoon at Lotherton Hall.
Many thanks to the Armitage family for sharing many of their photographs from this event, which have been used above with their permission. Thanks also to the Kidd family for taking and editing the video sample above.
